I am GAGA for this wedding. Like drooling all over every picture GAGA…
When I tell you that this wedding was COMPLETELY customized, I absolutely mean it! From the signage leading to the venue, to the signage on the bars, buffets, cake, and straws, EVERYTHING had a special touch– and was made with love by their amazing families!
You may have seen this beauty over on Southern Weddings Blog last week — if not, you have to check it out! Here was my favorite part of that whole feature (in Kelly’s words)…
“What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? My wedding planner, Elyse Skansi of Tying the Knot Wedding Coordination. She was invaluable. I cannot say enough good things about her. She completely understood what we wanted our wedding to be like and helped us make it the best day of our lives. Everyone tells me how unique my wedding was and how it felt like us. I even had a few people tell me that it was the best wedding they have ever been to!”
So here are many many more gorgeous pictures that weren’t featured on Southern Weddings! One of the most photogenic couples I’ve ever seen! Thanks to Ashleigh Jayne Photography for these incredible pictures! You’re the perfect wedding story teller!
And now off to the most beautiful tented reception I’ve ever seen…
And a word from our bride…”I have always been a little obsessed with weddings. My favorite movies growing up were My Best Friend’s Wedding and Runaway Bride. I am also a huge fan of Julia Roberts, can you tell? 🙂 I love everything about weddings, the commitment, the romance, and most of all how every wedding is unique. It was very important to me that Will and I have a wedding that was truly “different” and reflected us on a very personal level.
Even though I lack a green thumb, I am deeply in love with flowers. I have always envisioned some type of garden wedding, I just had to wait for the right boy to come along. When Will came into my life (we met at wedding, go figure) I knew we would be married one day and we would get to plan my dream garden wedding together.
Will had only a few requests: keep the ceremony personal, the reception fun, and make our day about no one but us. Down in the south, the traditional wedding is king. Both of us knew that was not what we wanted… Instead, we wanted our guests to feel as if they were coming to a party at our place, not a formal event.
Planning the wedding was everything I dreamed it would be. While everything didn’t go smoothly all of the time, it was such a joy to work closely with our wedding planner, Elyse Skansi of Tying the Knot Wedding Coordination. She completely understood our vision and helped us coordinate with our vendors to plan the perfect garden party. Everything about our wedding was beautiful and unique to us. So many of our choices were made in order to share with our guests a different aspect of our life. We were even able to include our pug Rosie as the flower girl!
If I were to give any advice to a future bride, it would be to forget about what everyone else does or chooses. Find your inspiration and make your wedding about you and your future husband and what makes you happy together!”
I love you Kelly and Will! I look forward to many more post-wedding coffee dates and chats about your future! Cheers to an amazing future for you two!!
