HI, I'M ELYSE

Styled Shoot | Rehearsal Dinner on the Half Shell

Nov 1, 2011

While I love a bride who is completely into personalizing their wedding day designs, I know that not all brides are ready to commit to that trend! We wanted those brides to know that there was a way to have the best of both worlds and prove to them that personalizing your wedding doesn’t mean that it has to be a “theme.” We designed and personalized this rehearsal dinner to show couples that it is okay to bring their heritage, passions, and personalities into their wedding parties! We based the designs of this rehearsal dinner on my own family’s heritage in the oyster industry. We named each of our dinner tables an oyster dish, incorporated oyster shells in the table decor, and even built an oyster chandelier! Incorporating burlap was a no brainer since oyster sacks are made out of burlap and it is such a huge trend in the industry right now! All small touches of the family without coming off as super themed!

By using a bunch of DIY things {the chandelier, burlap and jute wrapped candles, pearl wrapped champagne flutes, banner, pool monogram, and bench swag}, we created a perfectly attainable and unique rehearsal dinner. My incredible team of vendors, and fantastic photographer, helped immensely to bring my vision to life and capture it perfectly! Thank you, thank you Eric and Carolyn of Bee’s Wedding and Events, Lisa and Jason of Luminous Events, and Greer of Greer G Photography for being with me through every detail and idea! We made an incredibly gorgeous rehearsal dinner!

We hope to have given  you brides some ideas and inspired you to take a chance and add some of YOURselves to any of your wedding parties! It will separate your wedding from every other wedding!

You are officially invited to our rehearsal dinner remix…

Our gorgeous stationery suite by Tupelo Honey!

We chose the beautifully unique backdrop of Race and Religious, a venue in New Orleans that has so much character and personality in itself! The messy clay, exposed brick, and gas lanterns exuded the unique Nola vibe that we were going for!

This window pane was to perfect touch for our seating arrangements! A super easy thing to do and definitely more memorable than place cards!

Look at these gorgeous flowers by Bee’s! It’s breathtaking how fresh and unique his arrangements are!

While oysters and burlap are very raw elements, we added the wedding glam by incorporating mercury glass! It has become a favorite accent of mine! It instantly adds some sparkle and glamour to any room!

This shoot also gave me the opportunity to use another one of my favorite touches- sequins! Her gorgeous silver sequin dress is perfect for any rehearsal dinner or wedding party! Simply stunning- by Alice and Olivia

LOVE these gorgeous glasses from Old.New.Blue- a fantastically chic bridal boutique on Magazine St.!

Wreaths make such a beautiful statement on any door or gate! A must have on your ceremony church doors!

With such a gorgeous and unique POOL in the middle of our party space, we took advantage of the opportunity to dress it up! The lanterns from Luminous Events kept that New Orleans vibe going! And the floating monogram–LOVE!

And there you have it! Our take on a rehearsal dinner with a bit of personality- your own personality! We hope you are inspired to get to personalizing your own parties! Happy designing <3
