Luxury wedding planner + designer based in New Orleans. Personalizing traditional, yet custom + timeless, yet modern weddings. Named Martha Stewart’s Top Planner 2014
If you’ve been to New Orleans, you know how unpredictable the weather can be – it rains while the sun is shining! For that reason, we always have a rain plan! Even though tropical storm Karen turned our plans outside-in (literally), Jennifer and Ian’s exsquisite NOMA wedding could not have been more beautiful inside the museum than if it were outside in the sculpture garden!
Jennifer and Ian wanted their guests to feel the contagious New Orleans culture right from the start! After they said “I do” at the top of the grand staircase, guests paraded to cocktail hour with a classic New Orleans Second Line, waving hankies and dancing along with Smitty Dees brass band! There’s something about second line music that brings locals and out-of-towners alike to their feet!
Their decor was romantic with full, lush arrangements and twinkling candlelight from Nola Flora. Instead of table numbers, they used the famous New Orleans street tiles that spelled out in different street names – streets that Jennifer and Ian had lived on or had fond memories from! After a decadent meal from Joel Catering, guests enjoyed freshly made beignets as a late night snack, complete with mounds of powdered sugar! Maybe it was the sugar rush that kept guests on the dance floor until the last song…or more likely it was Groovy 7’s natural gift of entertaining! It’s impossible not to be moving and shaking all night long with this band!
Scroll through the photos by the talented Charlotte Latham and you’ll see that a “little” storm didn’t rain on this wedding’s (elegant and lively) parade!

From the first time that this bubbly pageant girl’s email crossed my inbox, I knew that we would be best friends throughout this planning process! Then when she told me that she wanted a classic wedding with a trendy twist that was full of details, I fell even harder!
Brittney and Ty’s wedding day was full of love, emotion, and the biggest smiles! And boy was there plenty to smile about! With the modern patterns and lounges, florals that highlighted a single flower in each bouquet, and a Vera Wang gown accented by most gorgeous Jimmy Choo’s I’ve ever seen, this wedding is the perfect mix of personality and style that you’ll love for years to come!
Also see their wedding featured on BRIDES blog! They did such a fabulous job highlighting the details and why we chose each decor aspect!
As a bride, BRIDES blog Aisle Say is the best place to go for descriptive inspirations that can truly help you bring those ideas to life! So pretty AND practical! And when this beautiful bride came to us to plan and design her wedding, she told me that her dream was to be on BRIDES!
Well Brittney, this is not a dream anymore! Welcome to your reality! Thanks for being the perfect muse!
Wander on over to BRIDES to see their love story unfold!
When you’ve got personalities as vibrant as these bold, bright florals, you know your wedding will be one for the books! Jeannette and Travis said “I do” back in May as my FIFTIETH wedding since starting Tying the Knot and I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to celebrate that milestone with! All night long, their smiles reminded me why I started the company and why I LOVE what I do!
Get ready to see nothing but smiles for the next 30 pictures! This couple is the happiest, most in love couple that I have had the pleasure to work with! And luckiest of all, I get to call this bride my cousin as well!
Sarah and Curt tied the knot in one of my favorite venues in New Orleans, the Montegut House! I can’t imagine a more classically nola courtyard to say I do! All of the emotions started at the Bourbon Orleans and continued down the aisle to her man under that romantic chandelier! After an incredible second line, the party continued back at the Montegut House for cocktails in that beautiful courtyard and an amazing party in that historic house!
I’m blogging again… and we’re starting with this gorgeous Spring wedding for Sarah and Tony!
This blushing bride started the (rainy) day off at the Ritz, then we travelled to the most beautiful New Orleans Museum of Art wedding and reception I’ve ever seen! It was so incredibly elegant and timeless! It was that wedding that you look back on in 20 years and still wouldn’t change a thing– just that pretty!
