A very special and important day will be happening this Sunday: Mother’s Day! And while I’m absolutely a believer in telling your mom that you love her and appreciate her every day, sometimes we need a reminder and an excuse to be sappy! So make sure your moms feel loved today, Sunday, and everyday!
Our friends at Mason Jar Films put together a video compilation of special moments between their clients and their mothers that was featured on Style Me Pretty! Tying the Knot is honored to have a couple featured in the video who share a very special moment between mother and daughter (and father even)!
Grab a tissue and give mom a kiss!
Happy Mother’s Day!
From Mason Jar Films… In creating wedding films and baby documentaries, we have witnessed many unique expressions of joy, wisdom, kindness, and love from mothers to their families. As Mother’s Day approaches, we wanted to craft something special to honor these women by compiling the sweetest and funniest wedding moments that radiate the love between mother and child.
As a wedding filmmakers, it’s hard not to get choked up when we see authentic displays of love — from sincere letters exchanged between a bride and her mother to joyous dance-offs performed by a mother and her son. We especially love the moment in the video where Tara, a bride, gives her mother a necklace with a diamond representing every person in their family for whom her mother has sacrificed.
While we love all of the beautiful details of a wedding, these physical accoutrements–the ring, the dress, the decor–are simply a physical reflection of the internal, emotional beauty of the relationships our brides and grooms cherish.
What a wedding! And one of my favorites to date!
Dara and Nate tied the knot at the ever-so-interesting Marigny Opera House, an old church that’s been turned into an event venue– and it’s amazing, might I add! Then add in an even more amazing bride, a groom who just adored his lady, a great story, her phenom sister who did the flowers, and some amazing talent behind the camera to capture it all (Mark Eric)… and you get this gorg soiree!
While I love a bride who is completely into personalizing their wedding day designs, I know that not all brides are ready to commit to that trend! We wanted those brides to know that there was a way to have the best of both worlds and prove to them that personalizing your wedding doesn’t mean that it has to be a “theme.” We designed and personalized this rehearsal dinner to show couples that it is okay to bring their heritage, passions, and personalities into their wedding parties! We based the designs of this rehearsal dinner on my own family’s heritage in the oyster industry. We named each of our dinner tables an oyster dish, incorporated oyster shells in the table decor, and even built an oyster chandelier! Incorporating burlap was a no brainer since oyster sacks are made out of burlap and it is such a huge trend in the industry right now! All small touches of the family without coming off as super themed! Continue Reading
